It's been available for a while for iOS and Android devices, but now Windows 8 and RT tablets can check out a rather cool new app that's made for people who enjoy reading magazines. It's called Next Issue and it's now available for download in the Windows Store.
Basically, Next Issue's business model is similar to Netflix or Spotify, but instead of streaming videos or music for one monthly fee, users can read a ton of different magazines for one monthly price. Next Issue for Windows 8 and RT has access over 75 magazines, and user can read a number of back issues as well.
There's a 30 day free trial and if you like the service, you can sign up for a $9.99 per month subscription which allows access to most of the digital magazines in Next Issue's library such as Car and Driver, Glamour, Men?s Fitness and more. Users can get all of the Next Issue magazine selections for $14.99 a month; that price adds People, Entertainment Weekly, Time, Sports Illustrated, Golf World and others.
The app also supports Windows 8 specific features such as being able to pin specific magazines to the Start screen and semantic zoom, along with notifications on when new issues are available.
